As September comes to a close, we have been thinking a lot about the months ahead. The shift from summer into the colder season always brings new pressures for households, with colder weather, rising bills and the approach of the festive season. For us at Paylink, this month has been about showing how financial resilience, affordability and inclusion can make a real difference when people need it most.
Award recognition with Octopus Energy
One of our proudest moments was seeing our work with Octopus Energy recognised at the Collections & Vulnerability Awards 2025, where we have been named finalists for Best Outsourcing and Partnership Initiative of the Year. The impact of this partnership has been clear – helping thousands of households access the right support at the right time, and ensuring people receive meaningful help when they need it most. It’s a powerful reminder of why we do what we do: delivering support that makes a real difference.
Making affordability conversations clearer
Debt is never easy to talk about, but this month we reflected on how important it is to make those conversations constructive. Embark gives organisations and their customers a clear picture of income and outgoings, helping to create repayment plans that feel achievable rather than overwhelming. By supporting realistic journeys, we are helping people move forward with greater confidence.
Inclusion front and centre
With National Inclusion Week 2025 carrying the theme Now Is The Time, we shared how inclusion is not just an annual talking point, but something built into Embark. Accessibility features such as screen reader compatibility, dyslexia-friendly layouts, adjustable text and multi-language support mean every affordability journey is designed to be fair and accessible for both your customers and agents.
Shining a light on savings
September also brought UK Savings Week, led by the Building Societies Association. One of the clearest messages for us was that saving often starts with getting on top of debts. We would like to thank the BSA for reminding us all that one of the most effective ways people can begin saving is by first managing their debts. Organisations play an important role here too, by ensuring repayment plans are fair and manageable, helping people build long-term financial security. With features like Payment Proposal, Embark is supporting customers and advisers to do exactly that.
Looking ahead
As we move into October, we look forward to sharing more stories, case studies and reflections on the impact Embark is having. We will also be joining our peers at the Collections & Vulnerability Awards ceremony on 15 October, celebrating the incredible work happening across the industry.
